WD481CW is a master alloy for 375-585-750‰ (9-14-18 Kt) white gold jewelry, designed for lost-wax casting in closed systems.
WD481CW is particularly suitable for stone-in-place casting in title 750‰. The presence of silver in formulation allows to decrease processing temperatures, ensuring better protection for the stones while casting.
The color of 750‰ gold made using WD481CW shows an off-white color grade (Yellow index: 26.4). In title 585‰ the alloy has a standard white color grade (Yellow index: 22.1). In title 375‰ the alloy has a premium white color grade (Yellow index: 18.1). In 750‰ title it is mandatory to proceed with rhodium plating deposition on surface in order to ensure maximum whiteness on the final jewel. This operation is recommended also in title 585‰. This operation is not necessary in title 375‰.
WD481CW has a medium level of deoxidizers; this makes it suitable for casting in closed systems. During melting it is clean from dirt and leaves minimum residue in the crucible.
WD481CW offers excellent fluidity in casting; the as-cast tree is clean from oxide scales; it has excellent shininess and lustrous color after finishing.
The hardness of 375-585-750‰ gold alloyed with WD481CW can be greatly increased by means of a heat treatment.
- The best choice for stone-in-place casting in title 750‰
- Low processing temperatures
- Excellent surface quality
